International Week

Years 3 and 4 need your help!

Year 3/4 will be representing Brazil during the International Week  11th -15th February.

Do you have any artefacts from Brazil that we can borrow? Do you know a special song that you can teach us?Do you know a special dish or story that you could share with us? We welcome any ideas or suggestions.

Easter Family Fun Day

Saturday 16th March 2013, 11am to 2pm, at the Webber Independent School. International Week

Years 5 and 6 will be studying Scandinavian countries during international week commencing Monday 11th February. If any of you have any artefacts or information on Sweden, Denmark or Norway we would be really grateful!

Roald Dahl Museum

KS2 will be visiting the Roald Dahl Museum in Aylesbury next Tuesday. Find out how they got on by reading their recounts at the end of next week.

Geography Booster

This Wednesday's after-school booster will be a revision and catch-up session for Year 10 and 11 students. If you would like to attend but did not tick the option on the recent ECA form you need to let me know by Wednesday morning registration.

Those attending this booster session should bring their exercise books and the course textbook. If you have a revision guide or workbook you should also bring these.

The after-school booster is every Wednesday this term, starting at 4pm and finishing at 5pm.

Weather Update

School will be open as usual tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd January 2013, unless the weather drastically changes overnight, in which case the website will be updated before 7am. The main roads around Milton Keynes are now fine, but please take extra care on Soskin Drive as although the ploughs cleared the road and our roundabout at school last evening, care still needs to be taken. If for any reason your child will not be attending school tomorrow, please advise the school office or bus driver in the usual manner.

Mind Snacks

For those of you with iPads, iPhones or iPods, have a look at the 'Mind Snacks' apps for French, Spanish and German. They are a great way of keeping your languages skills up to scratch on a snow day, or whenever you want to do a little extra learning. You can even start to learn a new language through their interactive games.

School Closed

School will be closed today, Monday 21st January 2013, due to the inclement weather.

Weather Update

School will close at 2pm today due to the inclement weather. Buses will leave school at 2pm, please ensure if your child is not on the bus that they are collected by 2pm.

'The Gifted and Talented Child' A talk by Dr Martin Stephen

One of Britain's highest profile Head Teachers and established author, Dr Martin Stephen is to speak at The Webber Independent School, Milton Keynes on Wednesday 27th February at an open-to-all evening starting at 7pm.
His talk titled ‘Identifying and Teaching the Gifted Child' is a pathway for any parent that believes their child has a special talent and explains the best possible way to channel this in the correct direction. Dr Stephen, former Head at several leading UK schools including St. Paul's, London, will give a 40 minute talk followed by a 20 minutes Question and Answer session.
The evening is FREE to all but people must register their interest prior due to limited availability.

Gardening Club

Gardening club is due to restart on Monday. If you have chosen gardening as one of your choices for extra-curricular activities this term then we meet by the shed at 1:30pm Monday.
You will need to be wearing your PE kit and suitable outdoor footwear, e.g. old trainers or wellington boots. You also need a pair of your own gardening gloves.
If you shop at Morrisons we are collecting their 'Let's Grow' vouchers, any vouchers would be gratefully received! Please hand these in to the school office.
