Years 3 and 4 had a brilliant time at the Recycling Centre.  We learnt about the importance of recycling, the types of materials that can be recycled and the process of recycling.
We made beautiful bracelets from beads that had been made from recycled plastic. It was an absolutely fantastic experience!

There is a new page on the school blog with lots of advice, for both students and parents, on how to stay safe online. Click here to go to the e-Safety page.

International Week Logo Competition Winner

After much deliberation in the staff room the judges reached a decision on the winner of the logo competition. The standard of entries was very high and it was difficult to choose an overall winner. However, the judges were impressed with the Honami Inoue's thoughful design which is the overall winner. Well done Honami!

The students were asked to give an explanation of their logo designs. Honami wrote "The fact that International Week, I drew students of a different race. Made heart-shaped planet, things together, mind and world."

Improvements to Our School

Danyal in Year 12 has very clear ideas about what should be improved in our school. Have a look at the MFL blog to find out!

Insects, Marine Life and Art Nouveau

These recently completed pieces of work are by Year 11 GCSE Art and Design students. The project entitled Insects, marine and Art Nouveau, saw students go on a visit to London to get inspiration for the project. Students made studies of Art Nouveau jewellery in The Victoria and Albert Museum and then went on to see bugs, butterflies and marine life in The Natural History Museum. The following mixed media 2D relief pieces are some of the students' responses to the theme.

Maps, Models and Hurricane-Proof Houses!

There have been several posts on the Geography blog this week including some examples of work done by students.

This week students in Year 7 learnt how to create their own map layers for Google Maps and used their new skills to make interactive maps about Milton Keynes, which you can find links to here. As part of their study of settlement the students have also made models showing the settlement hierarchy, click here to see some of their work.

Last term Year 9 studied hurricanes and as part of their work on the topic they designed hurricane-proof houses, a selection of their designs can be found here.
