Celebrating Outstanding Exam Results

We are celebrating outstanding GCSE results with 74% of our students achieving the quality benchmark of five or more A* - C grades including Maths and English Language. This is a magnificent achievement for students who range from the extremely able to the more averagely able but committed student, representing a very significant measure of positive value added.

European Day of Languages

On Thursday 26th September, students at WIS celebrated The European Day of Languages. This was marked with a whole week of lessons in the MFL department looking at the European Union and its member states.

Students were given a 'Passport to the EU' with stickers of flags, money and landmarks to match with information about the many EU countries.

Webber Outclass Stantonbury In Derby

The Webber football team came from 2-1 down to defeat Stantonbury Campus 5-3 in their opening game of the season.
Webber started the match the brighter of the two teams, with Sam and Nigel a constant threat in behind Stantonbury's defence. With Ben and Sammy pulling the strings in midfield, it was only a matter of time before they picked the lock of the opposition. Precisely that happened in the 5th minute when Nigel was played through one on one with the goalkeeper, and executed a delightful chipped finish.
