English Literature Trip to Camden

Year 9's end of term English trip to Camden and its famous market, on Tuesday, was conducted entirely on foot, exploring the settings of their recently studied novel Stone Cold, by Robert Swindells. The students walked straight from Euston Station to Camden, recreating the footsteps of the homeless young character Link, observing the environment and mixture of people which make Camden a diverse and exciting cultural experience but also reflecting upon the less fortunate situations of some of the habitual individuals in the Camden Lock area, featured in the novel.

The day gave a great deal of impressions for the students to evaluate, alongside their enjoyment of the market stalls and the sheer colour of the streets before another long walk back to Euston and the return train home.
