Badminton Success in Denmark

Nadeem, Lisa, Ashwati & Oliver went to Danish Cup. Lisa came home with two Bronze medals in the GS and GD.
The badminton scholars enjoyed a brilliant trip to Finland this half term. Lisa won GS, GD and MXD at U13, Nadeem won BS and BD at U13, Ashwati won GD with Lisa at U13 and Oliver won MXD with Lisa at u13. So a clean sweep of International titles at the U13 age group. Adam also got a Bronze medal in the U15 BD.
A very impressive performance from the guys! Well done all.

Scrabble Club

There are some new additions to the extra-curricular programme this term, including Scrabble Club! This popular club is a great opportunity for students to improve their spelling and practise mental arithmetic. The club is run by Mrs Marsden, on hand with the rule book, and each game is umpired by a Sixth Form student.

NSPCC Milton Keynes Half Marathon and 10k 2016

The Webber Independent School successfully hosted the NSPCC Milton Keynes Half Marathon again this year. The race moved from July to September this year and there is now a 10k race which a number of our own staff and students took part in.

All monies raised from this event go towards supporting the NSPCC Schools Service which helps children to understand different types of abuse and how to protect themselves.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Last Friday the Webber community baked, faked and ate cake together to raise a fabulous grand total of £316 (up from £79 last year) for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Nifty Netball Win

On Tuesday 4th October the Webber netball squad of Year 9, 10 and 11 played an exciting game against SHLA, where they defeated the opposition by 20 goals to 13. The win was a result of their hard work together with consistent communication and teamwork throughout the game. The girls all gave 100% effort and should be proud of what they achieved.
A special mention goes to two of our Year 7 players, Sophie Shrimpton and Samantha Gomez who played in this game and although played out of position, played really well! Also another mention should go out to our star shooters, Lavinia Stevens and Eliza Chinn who both scored some amazing goals. Congratulations girls! Well done!
